In recent sad news, Academy Award Nominee Noriyuki “Pat” Morita (Wikipedia, IMDB) has died, at the age of 73.
He played Arnold in Happy Days and of course, Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid series.
Pat, you will be missed. Here’s a fitting tribute:

What a shame to lose one of only a small handful of Asian-American actors to even make a name in the Hollywood film industry. Maybe not as frequently typecast as James Hong but a much more familiar name. He always reminded me of an oriental Colonel Sanders (?)… I guess there is a slight resemblance… might need sleep.
